Palas Athéna is a healthcare facility offering its services in Prague’s Jižní Město, a 5-minute walk from the Háje metro station. All care is covered by health insurance companies. We have contractual agreements with all health insurers, except for insurer 213 – Revírní bratrská.
Annually, we perform more than 185,000 outpatient treatments and over 3,500 surgical procedures under general anesthesia. We are one of the leading centers for the diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). We perform the largest number of laparoscopic fundoplications in the Czech Republic. We have excellent results in laparoscopic surgeries for abdominal and inguinal hernias, where we use the most modern methods and regularly monitor our outcomes. Our core surgeries also include successful and uncomplicated gallbladder operations.
We specialize in the treatment of varicose veins, varices of the lower limbs, and ischemic disease of the lower extremities. Comprehensive care is supplemented by ultrasound examinations. We are among the first facilities in the Czech Republic to implement endovenous laser therapy in the field of venous surgery. In addition to this therapy, we also offer another, less invasive method called ClariVein, as well as the newest method, VenaSeal, in which a small amount of certified medical adhesive is injected into the varicose vein.
