About my work

A highly experienced surgeon, graduate of the Faculty of General Medicine at Charles University in Prague, 1970.
From 1990 to 1995, he served as the head of the surgery department at Vysočany Hospital in Prague, and from 1995 to 2010 as the head of the surgery department at Almeda Hospital in Neratovice.
Since 2010, he has been working as a consultant at Palas Athéna.

About me

MUDr. Václav Drahoňovský is one of the first surgeons to perform laparoscopic cholecystectomy (CHE) and hernioplasty, with a focus on laparoscopic surgeries for ulcer disease in 1993, as well as the first laparoscopic surgeries for gastroesophageal reflux disease, diaphragmatic hernias, and achalasia in 1994 in Czechoslovakia.
He is also one of the first surgeons in the Czech Republic to master laparoscopic surgery for intestinal diseases.
